Join a Community Action Team
Planet Youth Local Action Teams give an opportunity for community members and organizations to work together, listen to youth perspectives, and use local data to find practical actions that can help build healthier, safer, and more connected communities for children and youth.
Planet Youth Haldimand-Norfolk
Local Action Teams will develop and implement action plans that will focus on four key areas of young people’s lives:
- family and parents,
- schools,
- peer groups, and
- leisure time.
The goal is to strengthen protective factors, reduce risk factors, and create environments where all young people can thrive.
Our goal is to build three Planet Youth Local Action Teams across the Haldimand and Norfolk Counties. One team will focus on Haldimand County, one will focus on the whole of Norfolk County, and the third will focus specifically on the southwest region of Norfolk County.
Who can join?
Anyone with an interest in improving health and wellbeing outcomes for youth in our community is welcome to join a Local Action Team, regardless of lived experience.
Whether you’re a youth, caregiver, professional, activity provider, municipal staff member, or anything else, we’d love to have you involved with one of our Local Action Teams.
What is the commitment?
We expect that the teams will start by meeting monthly to review local data and begin discussing potential initiatives. These meetings will begin in August 2026 and are estimated to take one to two hours each.

young people living in Haldimand County.
